Define Installation Components

Define the components and subcomponents of your installation.

If you want to view descriptions about a specific component or subcomponent, highlight the field. Information appears in the Description field of the main window.

Caution: Prior to installing __INSTBLE__ software, you must have installed and configured the necessary third-party products. For complete details about the required products and how to plan and design your Windchill Info*Engine environment see the Info*Engine Installation and Configuration Guide.

Installation Directory

Enter the directory where the __INSTBLE__ software is to be installed.

For new Windchill Info*Engine installations, the directory must be a new or empty directory. If you enter a path to a new directory, PTC.Setup creates the directory for you.

Note: The default Windchill Info*Engine installation directories are C:\ptc\Windchill on Windows systems and /opt/ptc/Windchill on UNIX systems.

Platforms

Select the types of machines that are to access this installation directory. PTC.Setup detects the hardware platform of your machine and lists that machine type as the default.

Components

Choose the components you want to install by selecting the appropriate check boxes.

For the installation of Windchill Info*Engine, the following components are checked:

• Info*Engine files—Installs the software required to run Info*Engine components and examples that demonstrate Info*Engine capabilities.
  
  
• Documentation—Copies the Info*Engine Installation and Configuration Guide, the Info*Engine User's Guide, the JNDI Adapter Guide, and a IEReadme.txt file (if needed) to the docs directory where Info*Engine is installed.
  
  
• Uninstaller (Windows only)—Downloads the utility that lets you remove your product.

PTC recommends that you install all checked components. If you prefer using the CD for accessing the documentation, you can clear the Documentation check box.

Disk Space

The available disk space for the installation directory specified is shown in the (Disk Space) Available field.

The disk space required to install the components selected is shown in the (Disk Space) Required field.
