Define Installation Components

Define the components and subcomponents of your installation.

If you want to view descriptions about a specific component or subcomponent, highlight the field. Information appears in the Description field of the main window.

Caution: Prior to installing __INSTBLE__ software, you must have installed and configured Windchill Info*Engine and the necessary third-party products. For complete details about the required products and installation and configuration instructions, see the Windchill PDMLink Installation and Configuration Guide.

Installation Directory

Enter the directory where the __INSTBLE__ software is to be installed.

The directory must be the directory where you installed Windchill Info*Engine.

Note: The default the Windchill Info*Engine installation directories are C:\ptc\Windchill on Windows systems and /opt/ptc/Windchill on UNIX systems.

Platforms

Select the types of the machines that are to access this installation directory. PTC.Setup detects the hardware platform of your machine and lists that machine type as the default.

Components

Select the components you want to install by selecting the appropriate check boxes.

• Windchill PDMLink — Keep the default to install the Windchill PDMLink software, which includes configuration and documentation management.
  
  
• Enterprise Search (optional) — Check this component to install the files necessary to run Enterprise Search. This software provides an interface between Windchill PDMLink and your search engine. If you choose, you can install and configure this software on a server other than the Windchill PDMLink server.
  
  

  Note: At some sites, multiple Windchill PDMLink servers use Enterprise Search. Maintaining the Enterprise Search server software on a machine other than the Windchill PDMLink server can improve CPU performance.

Languages

By default, all Windchill PDMLink-supported languages that are available are automatically installed.

Disk Space

The available disk space for the installation directory specified is shown in the (Disk Space) Available field.

The disk space required to install the components selected is shown in the (Disk Space) Required field.
