Specify the type of license line

Select the type of line that you want to create in your license file.

PTC license files have three line types: server, daemon, and increment or feature.

The server line defines

The hostname of the FLEXlm license server, which distributes floating licenses

The PTC Host or CPU ID

The TCP/IP port number for communication with PTC license client machines

The daemon line defines the PTC daemon (that is, ptc_d), which is a customized software program that grants/denies floating PTC licenses by reading the license file.

The increment or feature line defines all of the licensing elements, including the software product, the optional modules, and the number of licenses. Your License Pack file might have multiple increment lines for multiple products or floating modules. Enter each increment line.
