Define Installation Components

Define the components and subcomponents of your installation.

If you want to view descriptions about a specific component or subcomponent, highlight the field. Information appears in the Description field of the main window.

Caution: Prior to installing this software, you must have installed and configured Windchill Info*Engine. For complete details about the required products and installation and configuration instructions, see the Installation and Configuration Guide for the software.

Installation Directory

Enter the directory where the __INSTBLE__ software is to be installed.

Note: The default installation directories are C:\ptc\WindchillDBTool on Windows and /opt/ptc/WindchillDBTool on UNIX systems.

Platforms

Select the types of the machines that are to access this installation directory. PTC.Setup detects the hardware platform of your machine and lists that machine type as the default.

Components

Select the components you want to install by selecting the appropriate check boxes.

• Oracle Configuration Utility — The database utility that creates a database, user schema, and tables for __INSTBLE__.
  
  
• Configuration Options — Provides options to execute the Oracle Configuration Utility scripts by the PTC.Setup tool and to create external file vaults for external data storage.

Disk Space

The available disk space for the installation directory specified is shown in the (Disk Space) Available field.

The disk space required to install the components selected is shown in the (Disk Space) Required field.
