Oracle Server Properties

Use this window to configure your Oracle server properties.


Enter information in the following fields:

Windchill Database Username — Enter the Oracle database sign-on username.

Windchill Database User Password — Enter the Oracle database sign-on password.

Oracle Database JDBC Connection — Enter the value for the JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) connection to the Oracle server. Replace the displayed value, hostname:1521:SID, as follows:

  • Where hostname represents the fully qualified machine name where the Oracle server software is installed.


  • Where the port number (1521) represents the Oracle listener port number used by the SID.


  • Where SID is represented by one of the following: If you are running the Oracle Configuration Utility, the SID represents the database that will be created for you. This value must be unique. Otherwise, the SID value is a reference to the existing database the application server will connect to.
  • A user example might be mymachine.ptc.com:1521:wind.
